  • 1.  State of investments in African Agritech 2022

Agfunder is a US-based venture capital firm and research agency that exclusively invests in impactful technologies for food and agriculture system. With financing from development banks FMO from the Netherlands and BII from the UK they are setting up an African AgriFoodTech News & Research Platform. As one of the first outcomes of this platform, they have written a report that looks into the venture capital and angel investments made in African agri&food tech startups.

Their report provides great insights into the appetite of investors in African agri-tech, and in which type of startups they invest mostly (and for which ticket sizes). This report is very insightful for our discussions and work on Climate-Smart Agriculture.

Which African agri-tech startups have you recently seen raise capital? Or the other way around, which agri-tech startups would you want to see featured in next year's edition of this report?
