We cannot deny that a large part of the business initiatives that are or will be supported by the DIHs under the AEDIB|NET project are led by women. The question is whether the DIHs are equipped to ensure that their services are equally accessible to women business founders as they are to their male peers.
I suppose the immediate answer is: not all of them and not always. Fortunately there is help! Climate-KIC has issued a handbook for organizers of entrepreneur-facing programs to make their programs more gender-smart. From team composition to communication to selecting business initiatives to join your program, in all steps of the way gender-smart considerations can be made and this handbook gives practical tips, tricks and formats to put this into practice. The handbook can be accessed and downloaded via the link below.
My question to you: do you think your program is gender-smart? What are you doing to ensure equal access and what lessons do you draw from the handbook? Enjoy reading!
